Our Approach
Development Approach and Community Impact
The success of our energy system and the well-being of our communities are intertwined. That's why our development approach is focused on local fit and positive community impact from the very beginning.
Thoughtful Site Selection
Eddy selects project sites based on a careful review of both local grid data and zoning/land use. Overall, we believe that projects to support the local grid can be sited in industrial or commercial areas, away from sensitive uses, and on parcels without a better economic alternative.
Because our projects are relatively small, they can often be sited on portions of an industrial parcel where the owner can continue their existing use.
Economic and Workforce Benefits
Our projects provide a number of local economic benefits. First, we deliver long-term lease revenue to site owners, backed by utility-grade revenue contracts and bank financing. Second, our projects provide high-quality local jobs during construction and operation.
Finally, we work with our labor partners to implement workforce development programs, providing pathways into energy careers for local talent.
Community Benefits
We develop community benefit strategies that address local needs and grow the social good. In order to deliver tailored community benefits, we grow local relationships and partner with local and regional organizations who know their communities.
We emphasize cooperative partnerships with the community that address specific needs and create regionally specific benefits.
Safety
Battery storage systems are rigorously tested, vetted, certified, and built to comply with extensive national and international safety standards. The risks posed by batteries, like all electrical infrastructure, can be mitigated or eliminated with rigorous testing and safety standards.
Our battery systems comply with the most widely recognized battery energy storage safety standards include Underwriter Laboratories (UL) certification and compliance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
